Joe Novosielski

Owner & CEO

Joe grew up in Elyria, OH and started Blades of Grass Landscaping in 2019. Joe's favorite part of the job is he loves being a business owner, building relationships with customers and employees built on integrity and trust. His best advice for a customer looking to hire Blades of Grass is not to focus solely on the cost of services. There is truth behind the old cliché “you get what you pay for”. We stand by our quality of work and professionalism, which many might not get from the landscaping guy down the street. 

Kelly Moore

Business Development Lead

Kelly joined Blades of Grass Landscaping in January 2022 and serves as the Business Development Lead. She has lived in Avon Lake for the past seven years and enjoys building strong relationships within the community.

Her favorite part of the job is meeting new people, answering questions, and educating homeowners on the many landscape possibilities available for their property. Kelly believes customers should choose Blades of Grass because we are here to help and serve as a resource — even if you are not yet an existing customer. Providing guidance and honest insight is part of our commitment to the community.

Fun fact: Kelly proudly describes herself as a “crazy plant lady” and loves creating custom plant designs.

Shannon Niebes

Business Development

Shannon joined Blades of Grass Landscaping in March 2026 and serves in our Business Development role. She lives in Avon Lake and enjoys connecting with homeowners throughout the community.

Her favorite part of the job is meeting with customers and helping them bring their landscaping vision to life. Dan Novosielski

Operations Manager

Dan joined Blades of Grass Landscaping in March 2024 and serves as our Operations Manager. He lives in Amherst and plays a vital role in overseeing daily operations, supporting our crews, and ensuring projects are completed with efficiency and excellence.

His favorite part of the job is working alongside the team and helping each department operate at a high level. Fun fact: Dan served in the United States Army during Operation Desert Storm and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his service.

Patrick DeBan

Production Manager

Patrick joined Blades of Grass Landscaping in March 2026 and serves as our Production Manager. He lives in Avon Lake and plays a key role in ensuring our projects run smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

His favorite part of the job is working with customers and helping our crews be successful in the field. Maria Leali

Office Manager & Marketing Director

Maria joined Blades of Grass Landscaping in January 2026 and serves as our Office Manager and Marketing Director. She lives in North Ridgeville and oversees billing, systems, software, and marketing initiatives while supporting the team behind the scenes to ensure the company operates smoothly and efficiently.

Her favorite part of the job is working alongside an incredible team and helping them succeed. She enjoys solving problems — from billing and technology to marketing and operational systems — and finds it deeply rewarding to build processes that allow the team to perform at their best. Maria believes that when the team is successful, it is reflected directly in the quality of service delivered to every customer.

Fun fact: Maria is a professional photographer who owned her own business for 12 years, photographing babies, children, families, professional headshots, real estate, food, and other products. She now creates floral fine art prints for homes. She joined Blades of Grass Landscaping because the company aligns perfectly with her love of plants and the outdoors.

Angela Vilchez

Customer Service Representative

Angela joined Blades of Grass Landscaping in March 2026 and serves as a Customer Service Representative. She lives in Lagrange and plays an important role in supporting our customers and ensuring clear, consistent communication throughout the season.

Her favorite part of the job is talking with customers every day and helping them feel heard and supported. Angela believes homeowners should choose Blades of Grass because we take great care of our customers and prioritize service just as much as the quality of our work.

Jakob Stebel

Landscape Foreman / Crew Lead 1

Jakob joined Blades of Grass Landscaping in June 2025 and was promoted to Crew Lead within just two months, reflecting his strong work ethic and leadership abilities. He lives in Norwalk and leads his crew with professionalism, skill, and attention to detail on every project.

His favorite part of the job is working outside each day, taking on something different, and using a variety of equipment and tools to bring projects to life. Fun fact: Outside of work, Jakob enjoys raising his three-year-old and building a family with his wife.

Mike Surovey

Crew Leader – Mowing & Landscaping Foreman

Mike joined Blades of Grass Landscaping in December 2025 and serves as a Crew Leader for both our mowing and landscaping divisions. In his role, he oversees daily operations in the field, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to our company’s standards.

His favorite part of the job is seeing the finished product and the transformation that comes from a well-executed service. Myron Dobransky

Fertilizer Technician

Myron joined Blades of Grass Landscaping in April 2022 and serves as our Fertilizer Technician. He lives in North Olmsted and brings both experience and curiosity to his role, continually expanding his knowledge of plant health and soil science.

His favorite part of the job is learning everything he can about plants and how they interact with the environment around them. Myron believes homeowners should take a chance on Blades of Grass — while no company is perfect, our team is committed to doing our very best and continuously improving in everything we do.

Jorge L. Matos Pérez

Landscaping Foreman

Jorge joined Blades of Grass Landscaping in March 2026 and serves as one of our Landscaping Foremen. He lives in Lorain and leads his crew with dedication, focus, and pride in every project.

Landscape Technician

Louis joined Blades of Grass Landscaping in March 2026 and serves as a Mowing Technician on our lawn care team. He lives in Lagrange and takes pride in delivering clean, well-manicured results on every property he services.
